Ilford Pan 100 negative, Canoscan 4400f 4800dpi scan, Wekerle estate , Cmena8, Smena8

I recently went on a walk with my wife and the Cmena8 loaded with Ilford Pan 100 negative filmstock. We also took the Quartz Zoom with us, but that footage is not yet processed.

I have the still photographs to show though. I scanned the negatives myself with my Canon Canoscan 4400F scanner.

Click for more pictures with the Cmena8 with Ilford Pan100.

Fomapan R100 and the Cmena8 and Wekerletelep streets and trees.

A picture of a Wekerletelep street
A typical  Kispest-Óváros street
I had a roll of Fomapan R100, so on a shining winter afternoon I took my Cmena8 to capture some shadows. These are some of the pictures. It is not scanned, it was projected and then digitally photographed. A scan would have a lot better quality, maybe in the future I will have them scanned for the better results.

Another re-scan

Another re-scan of my older films. The new scan reveals even more that the Nizo Professional we used had serious image stability problems. It was not used for about 20 years, maybe that was the reason. Later on, other films had more stable results. Those I will get re-scanned later.

The shot was taken in Budapest at the Tomb of Gül Baba a turkish official residing in Hungary in the middle ages. Gül Baba's octagonal tomb (türbe) is located on Mecset (mosque) Street, Budapest, a short but steep walk from the Margaret Bridge in the district of Rózsadomb.
The tomb was built by Mehmed Paşa, beylerbeyi of Buda, between 1543 and 1548 and has a shallow dome covered with lead plates and wooden tiles. (wikipedia)

At the end there is a time lapse of Móricz Zsigmond körtér.

A rescan of the 2010 Szentendre movie

I had two of my films re-scanned in 1080p. You can see the scratches caused by the filmgate of the Nizo Professional which we used. The camera is clearly in need of maintenance.

The scan was done by keskenyfilm.hu.

First footage processed

Szilárd (SzilasLab) has successfully processed my first standard 8mm footage of the Quartz Zoom. I had issues with the film forwarding mechanism so it is about 80% okay.

I don't think it is worth for scanning though. The parallax error of the viewfinder is slightly bigger than factory standard and it is also a little bit off to the right side. Anyway, I projected and recorded it with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3.

Meanwhile I found a BW super 8mm filmstock available in Hungary. That is the Adox Pan Reverso Super 8mm film. I am planning to buy a cartridge and shoot it with one of the Nizo's.

The Quartz Zoom in details

Tonight I uploaded a video to YouTube about the details of the Quartz 3 Zoom. You can find the video at the end of this post, but if you have a Quartz Zoom without manual, I suggest to read the post first.
