A faulty film forwarding mechanism

The faulty cartridge turning knob on my Quartz 3 Zoom Cine CameraThe first footage I tried was a failure. The film was forwarded but not the proper way, thus the film broke away. At a first glance there was nothing special with the film forwarding mechanism but after the problem occurred I realized that one little knob that is supposed to turn the cartridge has several difficulties during forwarding to turn at all. This looks a minor problem since it is moving mostly, but in the end it is enough for a film jam. 


It stops for a second every once in a while during a 20 second long shotI used gun oil to have a little cleaning, I am hoping that the cause of the problem is a 51 year old lubricant that became gnarly during the decades. 

We will see, I let it sleep a night in a little bit of oil. Hopefully after a few hundred pull ups it will be back on top again.
